Volunteer Opportunities

MISA 2 volunteers making apple crispVolunteers are vital to the success of MISA and the maintenance of our programs. Volunteering with MISA is also an exciting way to work in the community to welcome newcomers to our country and develop the community’s understanding of diversity. We are always looking for support and volunteers are welcomed to help out in the following areas:

We are always happy to have volunteers interested in participating in the Board of Directors. The Board meets monthly to provide guidance and support for the organization. If you are interested in exploring the opportunity to join the Board, please contact us at the office and we will follow up with more information.

MISA provides Office Support training for interested volunteers. There is always something to do in the office, for example; creating posters, answering phones, putting together information packages, making photo albums, working on newsletters, preparing for events, to name a few. If you are interested please call!

As a non-profit organization, MISA is always looking to generate funds. Fundraising consists of several main events that MISA does yearly: Canada Day glow-stick sale, the Annual Multicultural Auction and Dinner. We also host several bake sales through the year.

As an organization that receives the much appreciated funding from local bingo players, we need volunteers to help fulfill our bingo hours. If you are interested in participating in this valuable service, please contact our office.

MISA provides several trainings in the community through the year. We are always happy to train Co-trainers. As a co-trainer, you will learn leadership and public speaking skills while being part of creating a better community.

All volunteers are required to complete a criminal record check.
