Immigrant Services –

Language Interpretation and Translation Services

Language interpreters assist individuals who have limited English skills to access broader community services and to receive accurate information and care. MISA maintains a database of screened and trained interpreters, and provides a dispatch service for agencies and community groups requiring this service. In most situations a fee is charged.

MISA can connect you with an interpreter who speaks Cantonese, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Polish, Punjabi, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.

If you need the services of an interpreter or would like further information please call (250) 830-0171.

Translators can transcribe text from one language to another. MISA can connect you with local translators or, for documents requiring a certified translator, services in the Lower Mainland. Fees depend on the number of words, and word processing and layout required.
